Hi everyone,
Another week, another update. This week was a lot easier than last simply because the social situations I have been involved in have been much more under my control. I have stuck to the plan as closely as I ever have and was quite happy to see 1.4kgs off. Especially since this was a 6 day week. This puts my current weight at 91.5kgs.
So this loss marks 2 significant milestones, firstly that I have lost 3 stone in 2 months and secondly, for the first time since.........well I can't remember, my BMI has dropped below 30. By medical definition, I am no longer obese, WIN!
Not sure how familiar a lot of you are with this chart..
But I have had it waived at me since being about 8 when I was first taken to the dietitian and told I needed to eat more healthily. My entire life has pretty much been lived in the orange "Fat" band but at my heaviest I did move into the red. I have to say it feels good to see how far I have travelled to the left in the last months/years.
It was also my second doctors review this week. Everything from a medical point of view is going well, I don't seem to be having any adverse side effects to the diet. I think that after 2 months my body has adjusted to this regime pretty well.
The main topic we discussed was my target weight.
I mentioned in an earlier post that I felt my goal weight of 13st was based on a certain level of disbelief from my part that the diet would actually work. Also, I haven't been that weight since I was 14, this means that as an adult, I really have no perception of my "happy" weight.
Now that I am 14ish stone, I can tell that I will not be happy at 13, there is still more than a stone there to lose. And while I am much happier with how I look now, I didn't get into this to become less fat or nearly be happy. I intend to finish this diet at my new target weight of 12st 4lbs (about 78kgs). And make it a focus of my life to stay there as long as physically possible.
So having agreed this with the doc we have shunted the new numbers into the plan. This of course means that my entry into phase 2 is delayed until my weight drops further. It also means that my weight loss graph looks pretty different since I have moved the goalposts.
So here is this weeks graph with new goal!
I'm going to do another blog this week specifically aimed at men on this plan since I think our reasoning, goals and attitudes might vary slightly.
And that's my week
Till next time.........
